Blanket

I know I usually post about my knit-things over here, but I'm gonna show it here too. :)

A few months ago my cousin Diana, Kat's Tyler's Aunt, had a request for a blanket for her new baby girl which is to be born in about 2 weeks. I told her I could make it, and now I am almost done with it.

Here are the 5 panels as I sew them together.

What Next?

So. I currently have nothing to knit. I don't really need to make anything, but I want to knit something.

What should it be?

A knit banana?
A sad bear?

Some hot pocket creatures?
Or do you have a suggestion of your own?

A Little Visit

Today Maria made a day trip to Wichita and I tagged along. I gave Nicole her hat (above) and Mom her scarf, not pictured. It was nice to see Mom, Jayme, and the baby.

Mmm...Tea

Maria called Shannon the other day and we met her at Radina's for lunch. Yummy.

In other news. Knittinghelp.com is the best place to get help with how to do different knitting things. There are awesome videos with sound and examples. And well, it's just great!

Ta DA!!!

I started it about 2 months ago. And now it's done. Felted and everything! I am so excited. Here is a picture of it after I finished knitting it, but before I felted it. You'll notice it's about 30 inches long. Also, I had extra yarn and free time, so I made a small coin purse.


Tuesday night I felted it. Here it is afterwards. Now it is only about 24" tall. It shrunk quite a bit. The skull and crossbones are a little more squished than I would like, but still, I made it and it's the sweetest knitting bag ever!

It's a Bag ! (Not a hat)

I've (badly) grafted the straps together and began to finish the ends off. I still have a bit to do, and then I can felt it. Yay.

How the Bag Goes?

Well, it's been a while since it's been in this state, but here is my bag about 2 weeks ago.

It how has 3.5 "straplings" which I hope to graft together to make 2 straps by Sunday.

Where I've Been

I was gone from my home for 12 days and 11 nights. During that time, I managed to see my parent and parent-in-laws and step-parent-in-law and significant-other-of-parent-in-law. Before I start, I don't have my pictures from Wichita because we forgot to burn them off of Rhonda's computer....

We went to Wichita first to surprise Mom for Mother's Day with a nice dinner at Larkspur. It was nice to see her happy and to spend some time with her. We went shopping too and left Sunday night.

In Garden, we took Rhonda to eat at Pho Ha. It was pretty good. We also got an oil change and watched some distant lightening. We left on Wednesday since no one was nice enough to cover for Michelle a work on Tuesday night.

On the way up, you may have seen, I finished another skein of yarn! I am actually almost done with this third skein now, but I still have a bit left in it.

The other thing is the bottom of the skull and crossbones.

When we finally made it to Colorado, we ate at Johnny Carino's and then went back to Gary and Linda's. Johnny Carino's is an okay Italian restaurant. They do give you free refills of Italian cream or regular Italian sodas though. That is awesome.

To Co Part 2

I've gotten a lot of knitting done recently. At Chris' graduation, I finished the Snotvia. Since then, I've completed my second skeins and began the crossbones, and skull. It is a pretty big bag. With each round I get more and more excited about finishing it!

Flaming Holes

Last Monday (a week ago) was Jenette's birthday. So while Rhonda and Michelle were here, we had a little shin-dig, complete with fire.

Then this Saturday, we played a fantabulous game of disc golf pairs. Chris had an awesome shot to get him a two on one hole. It just sat there, in the middle of the hole. (The hole that it's supposed to go through.)

Finally, my adventures in knitting have taken me this far. That yarn that I got in a few weeks ago has been turned into the bottom of a bag. With only 2 minor errors it's going along well.

Next Project

One of the best parts about finishing up a knitting projects is looking forward to starting the next! I am about 3" away from finishing my pair of leg warmers. Yesterday in the mail I received this box.


Inside this box were 10 small skeins of wool yarn. I need it to be wool (or other animal hair) because I'm going to felt this next project! Exciting.


They yarn (as you can see) is green and black. It was supposed to be a more kelly green, but that is a very hard color to find. So I settled. I bought the yarn from KnitPicks. It came very fast and was very cheap, only 2$ for 110 yards.

What am I making you ask? I pirate bag of course! It will be black with a green skull and cross bones and say Snotvia underneath (I think). I'm making it from this pattern here. It's a pretty cool thing and it uses double knitting. That, my friends, blows my mind.

New Things

Today, after hockey practice, I noticed I had two missed calls. I called Mom back and she told me Jayme had called to say that Baby Nicole got her first tooth! Yay! I can't wait to see her. Possibly this weekend, awesome.

On that note, Mom, Jayme, Maria, and Nicole are (hopefully) coming to our hockey games this weekend. Sweet. I am really looking forward to seeing them and for them to watch the team play. We are a lot better than we used to be, even though our record doesn't really show it.

Other new things, I decided to show off the things I've made. I made a new blog over here that has the things I've knitted. It's not everything, and some of it is crocheted, but I made it. Also, it needs a better name. So if you have any ideas let me know.

Beaded scarf

For Christmas my mom bought me all the goods to make a pretty beaded scarf. During the power outages in GC I tried to start it, but failed miserably. I had no idea was the long-tail method to cast on was, nor did I know if I was slipping the first stich of each row correctly. But I have recently beaten both my foes and have successfully created the first 8" of my pretty new scarf.
