6 Days

We have 6 class days before the state mathematics assessment. I just wanna get it over with!

Right now the K-State Girls Basketball team is playing Marquette for the NIT Championship next door at Bramlage. Thre is just about 30 seconds left, and we are up by 10 points. And we just won! Yay. I don't even like basketball and yay. Winning a championship is always good.

Here's a thing. A protestors sign said "Support our troops, question the war." Do you see the catch-22 in this? "Support our troops." okay, can do. I agree with that. But if you "question the war" you are implying that the war is bad, so if the war is bad, then we shouldn't be there, then our troops wouldn't be there, or wouldn't have jobs. So support the troops, but question thier job?

Support our troops and thank them for the job that they've done. They've done all that's been asked of them. But question the war that unnecessarily put them there... the war that keeps murdering them (and for what exactly?). I don't think it's a catch 22 at all. The troops didn't start the war. Many of them don't even support the war.

I agree it is a catch 22. How would a soldier who returned home feel when he sees a sign like that. He gave his all for someone to question why! the soldier is taught to do as his government asks, 100% and to be proud of it. truly supporting the troops would be thanking them for what they did and are doing, not questioning what they did and are doing. If a child hands you a piece of 'art' they created, do you tell them good job, give them a hug, then mention all they did wrong? this arm is too long, not realistic enough, this shld be blue not orange, why did you draw this, i dont think it was actually necessary.....! kind of deflates the pride in what was done, doesnt it.
